The magnificent view of the Bosphorus mesmerized the young participants from 100 countries.

As part of the 24th International Istanbul Büyükçekmece Culture and Art Festival organized by Büyükçekmece Municipality, 1,550 cultural and artistic envoys from 100 countries took a Bosphorus tour from Asia to Europe.

Invited to the festival due to the 100th anniversary of the Republic, the young participants were utterly captivated by the breathtaking view of the Bosphorus.Şarkılar söyleyip, dans ettiler

As part of the festival, the traditional Bosphorus tour, held every year, began from the Eminönü pier and concluded at Anadolu Kavağı. Enchanted by the breathtaking view of the Bosphorus, the 1,550 cultural and artistic envoys sang songs and danced along the way. Büyükçekmece Mayor and Chairman of the Festival Committee, Dr. Hasan Akgün, who didn’t leave the guests visiting Büyükçekmece from 100 countries around the world alone during the Bosphorus trip, personally engaged with them throughout the journey.

The Mayor of Büyükçekmece and Chairman of the International Istanbul Büyükçekmece Culture and Art Festival Committee, Dr. Hasan Akgün, who noted that the traditional Bosphorus tour has become a regular event, mentioned that it provides foreign guests from various parts of the world with an opportunity to discover all the beauties of Istanbul. He stated, “As part of the celebrations for the 100th anniversary of our Republic, we are hosting 1,550 young artists from 100 countries at the festival. These young individuals, no matter where they go in the world, will share the beauty of our country. They are now our honorary cultural and artistic ambassadors.”

Büyükçekmece Municipality Coordinator and Vice President of FIDAF, Gürhan Ozanoğlu, along with Mayor Akgün, expressed their gratitude to the captain and crew of the city lines ferry and presented them with plaques in memory of the day. Guests who participated in the Bosphorus tour were treated to “balık ekmek” (fish sandwich) at Anadolu Kavağı. The Bosphorus tour was also accompanied by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and Büyükçekmece Municipality Council Members Ahmet Şahin, Tarık Erdoğan, and Kerem Ereke.
