The award ceremony of the International Photography Competition took place.
The awards were presented to the winners of the International Güler Ertan Photography Competition, which is one of the most significant competitions of the International Istanbul Büyükçekmece Culture and Art Festival.
A total of 1,277 photographers from 35 countries participated.
In collaboration with Büyükçekmece Municipality and the Turkish Photography Federation, the International Güler Ertan Photography Competition received participation from 1,277 photographers from 35 countries, submitting a total of 4,730 artworks this year. The competition featured three categories: Digital Open (Color) and (Black & White), Migration (Color and Black & White).

The award ceremony of the competition took place at the Culturepark Kemal Sunal Amphi Theater. Dr. Hasan Akgün, Mayor of Büyükçekmece and Chairman of the Festival Committee, along with H. Gürhan Ozanoğlu, Büyükçekmece Municipality Coordinator and Deputy Chairman of FIDAF, presented award plaques to the members of the competition’s jury, Prof. Güler Ertan, Prof. Dr. Bekir Tuğcu, Burak Şenbak, and Ioannis Lykouris, in recognition of their contributions to the competition.
The winners of the International Photography Competition who attended the ceremony, including photographers Nuray Keskin, Ali Zolghadri, Deniz Kalaycı, Josef Danyi, Turgut Peker, and Murat İbranoğlu, received their awards. Mayor Dr. Hasan Akgün congratulated the awarded photographers.
The photographers who won Gold Medals
As a result of the jury evaluation, the photographers who won Gold Medals are as follows:
Digital Open / Color Category: Anton Timoshevskii from Russia (FIAP Gold Medal), Nuray Keskin from Turkey (TFSF Gold Medal)
Digital Open / Black & White Category: Somnath Pal from India (FIAP Gold Medal), Ali Zolghadri from Turkey (TFSF Gold Medal) In the Migration-themed competition, both in the color and black & white categories, Mithall Afrige Chowdhury from Bangladesh (FIAP Gold Medal) and Deniz Kalaycı from Turkey (TFSF Gold Medal) were awarded. Additionally, Murat İbranoğlu from Turkey was awarded the “Best Photographer” prize.
