Photographs awarded in the International Photography Contest were exhibited

The photographs that won the International Güler Ertan Photography Competition, one of the most important competitions of the International Istanbul Büyükçekmece Culture and Art Festival, were exhibited in Büyükçekmece Municipality City Square.

The exhibition, which was opened by the Mayor of Büyükçekmece and Festival Committee Chairman Dr. Hasan Akgün, Büyükçekmece Municipality Art Advisor Prof. Dr. Güler Ertan, photographers and members of the selection committee, attracted great interest from art lovers.

Stating that culture and art ambassadors from 100 countries participated in the 24th International Istanbul Büyükçekmece Culture and Art Festival this year due to the 100th anniversary of the Republic, Büyükçekmece Mayor Dr. Hasan Akgün thanked everyone who participated in the International Güler Ertan Photography Contest and congratulated the award-winning photographers.

1277 photographers from 35 countries participated

This year, 1277 photographers with 4730 works from 35 countries participated in the International Güler Ertan Photography Contest, which was held in cooperation with Büyükçekmece Municipality and Photographic Arts Federation of Türkiye. This year, the competition was held in 3 categories: Digital Free (Colorful), Digital Free (Black&White) and Migration (Colorful and Black&White).

Photographers who won gold medals

As a result of the selection committee evaluation, the photographers who won the Gold Medal were as follows:

Anton Timoshevskii from Russia (FIAP Gold Medal) and Nuray Keskin from Türkiye (TFSF Gold Medal) in Digital Free Colorful Category, Somnath Pal from India (FIAP Gold Medal), Ali Zolghadri (TFSF Gold Medal) in Digital Free Black&White Category, Mithall Afrige Chowdhury (FIAP Gold Medal) from Bangladesh and Deniz Kalaycı (TFSF Gold Medal) from Türkiye in Migration Colorful and Black&White Category were awarded the prize.  In addition, Murat İbanoğlu from Türkiye was awarded the “Best Photographer” award. The award ceremony of the competition will be held on Tuesday, August 1 at Kültürpark Kemal Sunal Amphitheater.
