The festival’s press awards were presented in a ceremony

As part of the International Istanbul Büyükçekmece Culture and Art Festival, the press awards given annually were presented this year in 3 categories.

The 25th International Istanbul Büyükçekmece Culture and Art Festival is taking place from July 24 to August 3, with the participation of 1,200 cultural ambassadors from 75 countries. The ‘Press Honor’ , ‘Press Success’, ‘Press Special’ awards given during the festival were presented  to three individiuals selected by the public jury and the festival committee.’

The Public Jury and the Festival Committee Determined

The public jury and the International Istanbul Büyükçekmece Culture and Art Festival Committee awarded the Press Honor Award to Zafer Arapkirli, the Press Success Award to İlker Karagöz, and the Press Special Award to Özay Erad. During the ceremony held at the Kemal Sunal Amphitheater in Büyükçekmece Culture Park, the awards were presented to the three distinguished individuals by Büyükçekmece Mayor Dr. Hasan Akgün and Büyükçekmece Municipality Coordinator and FIDAF Vice President H. Gürhan Ozanoğlu.

Three Esteemed Figures of the Turkish Press

Büyükçekmece Mayor Dr. Hasan Akgün, noting that all three individuals chosen by the public jury and the festival committee have proven themselves and have impressive professional backgrounds, stated, ‘This year, the press awards have found their true recipients.’ Following Mayor Akgün’s speech, the ‘Press Honor’ award was presented to Zafer Arapkirli, a prominent figure in Turkish journalism; the ‘Press Success’ award was given to İlker Karagöz, the successful host of the NOW TV Morning Brief Program; and the ‘Press Special’ award was awarded to Özay Erad, the experienced reporter from TGRT News. İlker Karagöz, who was unable to attend the award ceremony, had his award received by Savaş Yıldız, the director of NOW TV Morning Brief Program
